March 2017 | The Free 52 Project

March was a busy month! It seems like every month has been a busy one for a while now. I keep thinking there will be some time for rest but I’m starting to realize that I’m lying to myself. Summer will be here soon & we will be busier than ever.

I started out the month going to a Womens Retreat called the Summit at UCYC. It’s up in the mountains of Prescott, Arizona. Several of the Women at my Church & I made the trip up to dig into ourselves & the word for a few days.  It was beautiful & COLD! Prescott is adorable & full of charm. They have the cutest town square f-u-l-l of antique shops. I somehow managed to make it out without making a single purchase. I’m still patting myself on the back for that one. That town is full of tempting Southwest eye candy.

I ventured into downtown Tucson & free lensed some street stuff while at shoots this month. I love this town and it’s artful quirkiness more and more with time.tucson photographer, downtown tucson photos, tucson az graffiti, free lensed, freelensing, the free 52 project, kristin anderson photography

We had a visit from the pack of javelinas that frequent my parents house. We counted about 18 in all, they had 2 babies too. The pack that lives near our home is cautious, alert, guarded & uncomfortable in our presence. My parents pack seems to be less concerned with us, less threatend by humans. The kids and I watched them feast, play and scratch each others backs for a good half hour. It was a side we rarely get to see from them. They were about 15 feet away from us & yet they felt free to roam without hesitation or fear. One little guy came within 3 feet of me to get a whiff of me & the camera. I was able to get a few close ups… through a comfortable iron barrier, of course : )

Everything is starting to bloom here. The desert comes alive in April. I can’t wait for my yard to explode with desert flowers. I’ll definitely be sharing a lot in next months post.desert artwork, kristin anderson photography, tucson landscape photos, tucson arizona nature photographer, arizona cactus photos, succulent lover photosSpring Break was a few weeks ago. I didn’t document as much of it as I probably could have but I was happily more present. I did take my camera on an outing to the park. We spent a breezy afternoon flying airplanes and kicking the ball around. I dirtied up my sensor by freelensing in the wind but these images make me so much happier than traditional ones.

Hello grassy hills, colored foliage, cool temps & dark skies. I’m definitely going back to star gaze and shoot some night stuff when it gets warmer. I’ve never seen so many stars in my life! It was simply breathtaking. I wish I had something of interest to share. old schoolhouse, desert artwork, kristin anderson photography, tucson landscape photos, tucson arizona nature photographer, arizona cactus photos, parker canyon lake, coronado national park, sonoita arizona

I’ve been freelensing some at every shoot but I rarely post them. I had a few favorites that I wanted to share from this month.
